Leading cybersecurity AI practitioner joins Bricklayer to help shape the future of the Agentic SOC
ARLINGTON, VA – July 15, 2026 – Bricklayer AI today announced that Dean Teffer has joined the company as Strategic AI Advisor. Dean will work with Bricklayer’s team on AI strategy, product vision, and platform architecture as the company builds its agentic cybersecurity platform. His experience building production-scale AI systems will help accelerate Bricklayer’s mission of scaling security expertise through its governed, coordinated AI workforce.
As enterprises move beyond AI experimentation toward production deployment, success will increasingly be defined by trust, governance, and operational excellence. Dean has spent his career solving exactly those challenges.
Dean brings more than two decades of experience designing and operationalizing AI systems for some of the most demanding environments in the industry. Most recently, he led the AI organization at Arctic Wolf, where he built the team, architecture, and AI platform behind one of the cybersecurity industry’s most advanced commercial agentic security operations platforms. Under his leadership, the platform scaled to support more than 10,000 investigations per day.
Prior to Arctic Wolf, Dean’s career included AI research supporting the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, where he developed AI systems for mission-critical environments requiring exceptional levels of accuracy, reliability, and operational trust. Throughout his career, Dean has focused on transforming ambitious AI capabilities into production systems that operators can trust and organizations can confidently deploy at scale.
“The next generation of cybersecurity won’t be defined by who has the largest language model. It will be defined by who can operationalize AI safely, transparently, and at enterprise scale,” said Adam Vincent, Founder and CEO of Bricklayer AI. “Dean is one of the most accomplished AI leaders in cybersecurity. He has demonstrated what it takes to move from AI research to production systems operating at enterprise scale, a challenge that many organizations are only beginning to understand. Beyond his technical accomplishments, Dean brings a pragmatic philosophy around trustworthy AI that aligns perfectly with our vision for the Agentic SOC. We’re thrilled to welcome him as our Strategic AI Advisor.”
“The enterprise AI conversation has been dominated by model selection, but the durable advantage will come from something else: how organizations structure the work around the model,” said Dean Teffer, Strategic AI Advisor of Bricklayer AI. “The atomic unit isn’t a prompt or a token, it’s the discrete piece of work a human expert is accountable for. In cybersecurity, that work takes the form of investigations, incidents, findings, and other defined security outcomes. Other domains have their own equivalents. Building AI systems that operate on those work objects, with disciplined engineering around governance, verification, and expertise capture, is what makes AI actually deployable in environments where accuracy matters. That is what Adam and the Bricklayer team are building, and it is why I joined as an advisor. The next generation of enterprise AI will be defined by teams that turn expertise into governed systems, not just wire models into workflows.”
Dean holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Physics from Tulane University. He serves on the IEEE-USA AI Policy Committee and the Texas Private Sector Advisory Council, contributing to the advancement of responsible AI policy and practice.
Dean’s appointment reflects Bricklayer’s continued investment in technical leadership as the company expands its platform for enterprise cybersecurity. His experience will help accelerate the company’s AI roadmap, strengthen product and engineering execution, and support Bricklayer as it enables organizations to deploy AI agents that operators can govern, audit, and trust.
